Thanksgiving 2008
This past week/weekend I enjoyed (2) Thanksgiving dinners: one was with me family and the other was with friends- me sister hosted the former at her place and I the latter. I have a lot to be thankful for this year, to say the least.
Me TV room: I have as many chairs as I do channels in this room. Dad made art piece on wall back in the 70′s.
Me living room: mirrors, hardwoods, fireplace, couch, plant, art.
Me set up a long banquet table for me guests.
Me theater-style chairs were brought out to accommodate all me guest’s butt cheeks. I barely had enough chairs for all cheeks present.
Me favorite plant and gray vase on mantle.
Brass firewood holder thingee.
Vase collection, shelf 1.
Vase collection, shelf 2.
Not going to lie, a duraflame will do. Though I’d love an ax and a cord of wood to swing at.
I was in charge of cooking sweet potatoes for me party. Me sister’s house in Idaho was a different story…
Pie. Cherry, I believe.
Head dresses were worn for the play.
Movies, pop corn, recliners, naps.
Sister Chelly and her daughter during the dance off.
Niece during the dance off.
Other niece during the dance off.
Yet another niece during the dance off.
I am thankful for me new buzz cut. So much easier than having hair.
Me and 3 brothers: Garett, Jared, Tyler, Kyle
Old family photo hanging in me sister’s house. I’m the kid with the big head and the striped pajamas on mom’s lap.
Me brothers and bro-in-law back in Wyoming (on his shoulders). He’s been with the family for 25 years. He is a stud muffin if there ever was one.
Photo collage.
Air mattresses were pumped up to accommodate the large crowd.
Cheesecake.

Mom in foreground with cast on. Austi in background.
Jam, jelly, whatever you call it.
Ice water.
Me sister started a tradition of writing on our tablecloth with fabric pens- what we are thankful for. Each year, since 2003, we have written our thanks down. Chelly’s hands pictured here.
What I was thankful for in 2007. A bit dramatic in hindsight.
What mom wrote this year. Good ol’ mama…
Corn. Mini or full size?
Peeled mini carrots. I could eat 700 billion of these.
Olives, not so much.
Broccoli, now you’re pushing it.
2008 remains a mystery- what am I thankful for? The tablecloth wasn’t big enough to fit it all.
Good ol’ pops. Always pulls out the pragmatism and potency.
Dad mashing taters in background, mom washing dishes in foreground. Rolls rising and being flour dusted.
Little niece writing in corner next to piano. She is working on a story she shared with me. So far, she is 42 pages into it. She’s a good kid with an adventuresome brain.
Staring at the ceiling. Dreaming of stuffing and gravy…
Butter. One thing you can never have enough of. I wish I had a life size stick to roll around on/in like a corn cob.
Cracking nuts of all kinds.
Corn off the cob.
Boiling potatoes.
Sister’s front door. Boy is she crafty. Keeps a fun and cutely decorated home.
Me niece made breakfast for us (and a menu to order from). I teased her about her spelling of cinnamon, then I realized, I couldn’t spell it either.
Happy Thanksgiving ya’ll.
