Gone to Alaska…

This old lumberjack leaves for Alaska Sunday.
Be back in one week.
While there, won’t have access to the web- won’t be posting anything to me’Blog.
I will miss Oregon and all things similar.
But instead I’ll have a chance to be around…
Black Bears.
Panning for Gold.
The Ocean.
I have no clue what to expect… I’ve never been.
My only hope is to return :)

Portland Front Door.

Front Door
Me been gone for (3) days.
Me was visiting family- little brother got married.
Me just returned this morning on an airplane.
Me glad I went to visit.
Me enjoyed the wedding.
Me enjoyed the water and the sugar.
Me saw horses, and milkshakes, and yellow castles.
Me gave lots of hugs and me caught up with loads of folks.
Me conversated.
Me unplugged.
Me recharged.

Everything was good, but, me surely missed my front door in Portland.

Timothy Lake.

Timothy Lake
Over the weekend, I went camping up at Timothy Lake. I haven’t been camping, or to a lake for that matter, in quite some time. I was with a group of about 15. We set up camp, cooked fire pit burritos, floated in the water, meditated, and late Saturday night, wandered off to go stare at the stars in the night sky. We laid on the banks of the lake and I swear you could see every star in the universe. Whoa.

I’m already planning my next wilderness voyage.

PDX to JFK to PDX.

Last night I returned from a 4-day stint in NYC. I was there visiting my friend Graeme (who had a photo shoot scheduled while I was there) and I also took care of some db clay business related matters. All in all, I had a marvelous time biting the big apple- it was a good chance to hit a personal reset button and to reflect on the west coast. Below is an image I took outside a bakery on Bleeker.

Bridges, parks, buildings…as far as the eye could see.

The first day I arrived was spent conducting sales training with a national rep agency we recently signed up. They will be representing both our db clay and myDuctbills product lines. They go by the name Keena and they cover the entire US. We are excited to be working with them indeed- below is a picture of their building in Brooklyn…their showroom is on the third floor.

Raining on Palm Trees.

San Diego Travel
This rain ridden Portlander was in San Diego this past weekend. I flew in at 6am on Saturday morning and flew back at midnight on Sunday- a quick, whirlwind of a trip indeed. I brought the wet Portland rain with me…I got showered on, I heard thunder and I walked down to the beach mid storm- my face was drenched with wet blowing sand, not the sun I had hoped for. The sky looked so pretty though, above the palm trees, so I didn’t complain.

I was there attending an international travel goods tradeshow- while there, I had meetings with our Australian, European and SE Asian Distributors…I was laying the groundwork for broader sweeping db clay international distribution heading into holiday 2008. My meetings went very well and they made me realize that no matter where you go in this world, nearly everyone carries a wallet of some sort.

Green tea while working on Green Textile.

Green Tea
Hot Green Tea has officially replaced water as my bloodstream’s main ingredient. I have been in Asia for about five days now and I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count the cups of tea I’ve consumed over the duration of my short stay here. I don’t even remember what water is anymore.
I have been drinking Green Tea by the bucket load. I have also been working on making the db clay wallet a more green thing too. I’ve been having a lot of conversations this week regarding Tope and the possibilities for eco friendly improvements therein.

Travel, Version 3.1

Flying around a round world; don’t bug me.

Hello everyone. I hop on a plane tonight and will be gone for a few weeks (so I may not post for a while). My goal is to unplug and digest 2007 during my imminent stay abroad. I hope to come back with a fresh perspective on 2008…I am in need of hitting the reset button and I need to shed some old skin just like a snake would do. I am flying to Asia to work on Version 3.1 wallets as well as Version 3.2 and our upcoming Version for women.

I’m right there with you Ferdinand. I hope you’re right, otherwise I might be falling off the edge. If I do, I hope db clay will tell the world my story.

db clay HQ.

db clay World Headquarters
This ol’ chump (yours truly) will be jet setting to Asia on Friday; I will be gone for about a dozen days. Though I am indeed excited to go, I am surely going to miss my dear, red bricked home while away. Every morning I get to work, I walk up this steel cat walk, do a turn, and smile because I love our space so much. It is always so quiet and surreal feeling out here. Almost as if not in Portland.

The building pictured above is in fact db clay’s World Headquarters- image was shot by Mr. Diggles for the back page of upcoming Version 3.1 Catalogue. On a related note, I will be finalizing Version 3.1 samples while on my trip overseas. I will also be laying the groundwork for Version 3.2 and Version 4.0 (db clay for version for women)…these are truly busy times for db clay. Crucial, and back breaking, to say the least. I think my body is undergoing the process of cashing its last gut check. Me’ hope it doesn’t bounce.
Though you must wait for V 3.1, V 3.2 and V 4.0, you can definitely pick up V 3.0 wallet now!

Out to see sea.

Birthday Cake
A good pal of ours turned 30 today- to celebrate we headed to Lincoln City this past weekend. Though too cold for some, the Oregon Coast is just dandy with me.  It was beautiful, etc.
